Veterans Committee

Chairman- Bobby Hayes
Vice Chair- Scott Schultz

We are proud to serve as members of the Veterans Committee. Together, we stand united in our commitment to honor, support, and advocate for those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.

It is both a privilege and a responsibility to carry forward their legacy.

As a committee, we remain dedicated to fostering a strong network of support, preserving their stories, and recognizing their invaluable contributions.

We are honored to serve, and we are proud to stand for those who have stood for us.

To All

The Veteran's Committee is dedicated to supporting and uplifting the men and women within our membership who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Many of our members have answered the call to serve our country in branches such as the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Their leadership, discipline, and commitment to service continue to strengthen our union every day. The Veteran's Committee is a meaningful way to recognize that service while ensuring our veteran members have the support and resources they deserve.

The purpose of the Veterans Committee will be to:

• Provide peer support and mentorship for veteran members transitioning from military to civilian careers.
• Connect members with available veterans’ benefits and community resources.
• Advocate for workplace policies that protect and support veterans, including those currently serving in the National Guard or Reserves.
• Organize events to recognize and honor veterans within our local.

Beyond offering support, this committee will strengthen solidarity within our union. Veterans bring invaluable skills in teamwork, leadership, resilience, and qualities that align directly with the values of the labor movement. We reinforce our commitment to brotherhood, sisterhood, and mutual support.

Participation in the Veterans Committee will be open to all interested members, whether you are a veteran yourself, currently serving, or simply wish to support those who have served. Together, we can ensure that no veteran in our union stands alone.

I encourage members who are interested in helping establish this committee to attend our next Local 1010 union meeting or contact us for more information. Let us honor service not only with words, but with action.
